Highlights: Celebrating The First Ever Hispanic Heritage Month Here in Charles County

On October 15th Charles County, MD celebrated its first annual Hispanic Heritage month celebration. Different organizations came together to support, uplift, and celebrate our Latin American community in Charles County.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Delegate Wilson’s office issued citations from the Charles County government, presented by Rubin Collins, President, Board of County Commissioners.

This year’s celebration took place at The Shops at Waldorf Center here in Waldorf, MD, and kicked off with the cast from CSM who featured RENT in their new show. Followed by Martika Conka and Walter who awakened the crowd with their heartfelt music and entertainment.

With such great entertainment and salsa, also came Latin food. Tasty and filling, the local community had a chance to experience the full Hispanic heritage at this celebration.
